On the home front, Brisbane Roar are simply breath-taking and they are making Betstar a little nervous.
The hope for us is a couple of upsets and with Roar’s patchy form in Melbourne, maybe this is the week. Victory will, as expected, start underdogs at $3.40 as they still look for their first home win and Brisbane $2.04 – value could well be the draw at $3.35 – let’s not forget both game’s this season at Etihad Stadium have finished 0-0.
In the English Premier League, the leaders all come off predictable wins, so punters have now set their sights on where be they can gain some extra money from emerging teams.
Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United have shown enormous resilience and its now hard to see them losing at home any time soon, so the visit of Everton shouldn’t cause them too many problems. Thus it’s to my surprise punters haven’t snapped up the current price of $2.28 — Tim Cahill hopes to return for the Toffees who are $3.15.
Spurs have somewhat flown under the radar too. After a year in the Champions League, they failed to back it up, but Harry Redknapp has spent wisely in needed areas and they look set for a return next season on current form. Craven Cottage has been somewhat of a bogey ground for Spurs ($2.26 this weekend to win) in recent times so you can understand punters cautiously keeping an eye on how they go against Fulham ($3.15).
While we mention Fulham, the GGArmy punters got us last week – well done! So we’re back to take you on again and GGArmy’s favourite Mark Schwarzer will have his work cut out for him, thus our special this week returns with the shot-stopper in goals against high-flying Tottenham.
The special is again - Schwarzer to keep a clean sheet against Spurs - $5! (Max bet $200). Last week the special was $3.20, so it’s enormous value if you think the big fella can go back to back weeks!
Remember if you’re not already a part of the crew at Betstar.com.au, when you sign-up please make sure you enter ‘GGARMY’ in the promo code to support Australia’s Football Fan network - the Green and Gold Army.
Until next week, happy punting!
