London's Calling

An incredible turn of events for Brisbane Roar in the A-League as we well know, as a result you’d think the punters would jump ship… well think again!

Their loyalty is very admirable but I’m detecting their patience is wearing very thin, and on New Year’s Eve, they will start $1.96 favourite – despite five consecutive loses. Their opponents are Melbourne Victory, backing up from a derby defeat, who go in a $3.70 underdog which is somewhat of a rarity this season – the punters have definitely abandoned the blue and white ship, so we wait and see whether punters will finally have success with Brisbane.

Elsewhere, the story of the A-League this week goes to the Red and White half of Melbourne after disposing of local rivals Melbourne Victory 3-2 and Sydney FC in Sydney 4-0. Impressive indeed. Betstar’s punters have rarely taken notice of Melbourne Heart but the time has finally arrived, surpassing Victory in the futures markets and they look to be the team to beat, along with Arnie’s Mariners minus Matt Simon in the New Year.

In the Premier League, we’re in the midst of the hectic Christmas period and as City slip, United pounce and let’s not forget Tottenham who’s keeping them honest – City remain title favourites however at $1.82, United $2.32 and Spurs $17. Many (seemingly) predictable fixtures coming up over New Years with United, Arsenal Chelsea and City all short priced to pick up three points in their respective fixtures.

The one that does catch the eye a little is City’s trip to the Stadium of Light against Sunderland. Martin O’Neill appears as though he’s installed some steel in the Black Cats, he’ll be looking for back to back home wins to keep his 100% record intact, meanwhile Man City will hope to bounce back after a dull draw against West Brom mid-week. Punters have every faith in Mancini’s men – they’ll go around a short $1.49 favourite, the Draw $4.10 or if you fancy a Sunderland upset $6.70 could be a late Christmas present.

Betstar has special that should get you back in business if you’ve been battling on the punt lately. You can get London’s Big 3 (Spurs v Swansea, Chelsea v Villa and Arsenal v QPR) all to win this weekend for a special price of $2.75… certainties you say? Well you won’t beat Betstar’s price!
