Make way for Manchester's Magnificent Monday

Similar weeks in the A-League and Premier League last up with the third placed teams failing to capitalise on opportunities to make inroads into the top two as the teams above get the job done.

A-League’s third placed Melbourne Heart have hit a hole in the road and seemingly can’t get out. Three consecutive losses at home and all of a sudden they’re right back into the main group and, with a tough road ahead, fight to keep their place in the Top 6. It’s a crucial weekend for them and the teams just below as well. Sydney is $1.85 in a must win home fixture against Gold Coast with a Mic-less Miron who are $4.20. Roar $2.18 start favourites when they travel to Melbourne Heart $3.15 and in a key clash, the rejuvenated Perth Glory $2.40 host Melbourne Victory $2.80 with a red-hot Harry Kewell… will Perth’s travelling finally catch up with them here?

Meanwhile in motherland, Spurs failed to claim all three points at home to Wolves and punters will be filthy with Tottenham as their draw cost a big pay in Betstar’s Top 4 special last week. No such issues for United who cruised at home and City got the job done against Wigan.

If you’re after value this weekend, I wouldn’t recommend Liverpool at $1.65 away at Bolton or Everton’s short price of $1.52, they’ve both battled for consistency all season. On the flip side, perhaps look at the draw or even upset Bolton at $5.40 / Blackburn at $6.80 but the highlight of the weekend will be magnificent Monday.

The double header on Monday (our time) sees the Manchester sides facing North London opposition. We open with City ($1.87) hosting Spurs ($4), possibly Tottenham’s last tilt at the title – a loss here and you couldn’t see a way back. It’s equally as important for Mancini’s men as they know any slip will open the door for the blokes across the road to jump in as well. Those blokes are United, and they head to the Emirates where they will go in slight favourites at $2.52 against Arsenal $2.70 for a rebound win , $3.30 the draw. Is it Arsenal’s last shot at a Champions League spot? A Monday that could really shape the title race and the Top 4.

We’ve got a cracking special that will have you firmly entrenched in Monday’s events, get both the favourites – both Manchester teams – to win for the big price of $5 – only at for you!
