Schwarzer and Man City both looking pretty

It’s the story of the week and we’ve had a lot of questions about how the punters and bookies have reacted to the apparent changing of the guard in Manchester.

Well we can tell you it has been a hectic week, with most punters abandoning the red half of Manchester and yelling ‘all aboard’ the City Express! Man City have been backed in from $3 just last week to $2.05 right now, a turnaround unheard of after just one match, meanwhile Man Utd have drifted from $2.25 to $3 with Chelsea out to $5 now… we know it’s a long season, are you entirely convinced City can go the journey? Time will tell.

Meanwhile, pressure mounts on Melbourne Victory as they head over to the cake tin. With a horrendous record in New Zealand, will Victory at least score their first goal of the season? They’re $2.74 to win, Wellington $2.46, on the fence $3.25.

Heart and Central Coast are still searching for their first wins as well. The Mariners ($2.26) host Perth ($3) and Sydney FC ($2.54) will be looking for back-to-back wins when they return to Melbourne this time at AAMI Park against Heart ($2.66).

Most eyes on the weekend will be looking to see how exactly Man United react after last week’s humiliation and punters are not touching $1.76 (United to win against Everton at Goodison) which tells us they’ve lost faith.

Meanwhile they cannot get enough of City ($1.14 to win against Wolves at Etihad). Stamford Bridge is home to an intriguing London derby, Chelsea ($1.62) have been in pretty good form but were humbled by QPR with nine-men and their opponents, Arsenal $5.60, started poorly but have surged back up into the top half of the table. The loser here will suffer a major setback!

GGArmy punters have battled in recent times, but when you’ve got the better of us it’s been with Aussie hero Mark Schwarzer and our special this week returns with the shot-stopper in goals at Wigan. The special this week is - Schwarzer to keep a clean sheet against the Latics at DW Stadium - $3.20! (Max bet $200) And don’t forget if you fancy a flutter on the horses at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup carnival, jump onboard Betstar!

Remember if you’re not already a part of the crew at, when you sign-up please make sure you enter ‘GGARMY’ in the promo code to support Australia’s Football Fan network - the Green and Gold Army.

Until next week, happy punting!
