Have tickets for this. Was gonna be my first HAL game since 2006, but will be in Sydney early on the Friday for the NT fixture that weekend.

Although... AFL GF will be the biggest event in the Melbourne calendar for many years to come, so we have to accept that we need to learn to co-exist... i know at least i can go to both this and the socceroos... but i would have prefered it on a different day

I will be in Sydney (from Newcastle) on the weekend to watch the socceroos. I also want to watch the Melbourne Derby on TV Friday night. Does anyone know where they how A-league games on TV in the CBD.

"Cheers" bar http://www.cheersbar.com.au/ on George Street just down from Town Hall station is probably the best live football venue in Sydney - well managed, good location and they look after fans really well

It was the right move to delay the game. It is meant to be the big showpiece game that is going to spark the public interest in the game (in Melbourne anyway). It would have totally been a foot note had it been left on the GF replay day.
