Former Socceroo midfielder Scott Chipperfield has signed a short-term deal with Illawarra Premier League club Tarrawanna and hopes to finish his distinguished career in the A-League.
The 36-year-old, who has been capped 68 times by Australia, played for the south coast side as a 17-year-old and is keen to play for one of the two Sydney A-League franchises.
"If I don't pick up a contract with the A-League, then I'll play (for Tarrawanna) until the end of the season," Chipperfield said.
"It's all up in the air at the moment, but I'm pretty confident I can play a couple of games."
Chipperfield enjoyed a stellar season with Swiss Champions Basel FC which included an amazing run in the European Champions League where they advanced from a group that included Manchester United, before losing to the ultimate runners-up Bayern Munich.
