Matildas superstar Sam Kerr fired in a double as Chicago Red Stars thrashed Houston Dash 3-0 in the NWSL.

The brace took Kerr’s season tally to 15 goals, six clear of the next best in the NWSL.

Kerr opened the scoring in the seventh minute, breaking in behind the Dash defence and firing in low off the near post.

She doubled Chicago’s advantage in the 43rd minute with a drilled shot from the edge of the box after a central pass.

The Matildas skipper was denied her hat-trick when her low effort was saved by the Dash keeper Jane Campbell in the 57th minute.

Kerr was substituted in the 69th minute, missing out on the chance of sealing her treble when Chicago won a penalty kick in the 84th minute which was saved.

Steph Catley and Alanna Kennedy both played full games as Reign FC knocked off Orlando Pride 3-1.

Kennedy was at fault for Reign’s opening goal, stumbling when controlling a pass allowing Bethany Balcer to swoop and play in Darian Jenkins to score.

Only a few minutes later Catley got down the left flank before a pass for Jenkins who still had plenty to do, before advancing and netting from a tight angle.

Ellie Carpenter, Hayley Raso and Caitlin Foord all got significant minutes as Portland Thorns went down 1-0 at Utah Royals.

Carpenter started and played 75 minutes. Raso started and played 87 minutes. Foord was a 67th minute substitute.

In Germany’s Frauen DFB Pokal, Emily Gielnik debuted for Bayern Munich, playing 63 minutes in their 5-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

In Norway’s Toppserien, Tameka Yallop put in a full shift as Klepp lost 4-0 at Valerenga.

In England’s Women’s Super League, Jacynta Galaabraarradchchi debuted as a 57th minute substitute as West Ham lost 2-1 to Arsenal.
