Martin Boyle spurned a golden opportunity while Lyndon Dykes netted from the spot and Danny Vukovic returned after 12 months out with an Achilles injury.

Boyle put in a full shift as Hibernian won 4-1 at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday but wasn’t among the scorers, although he earned a 6/10 rating from the Edinburgh Evening News.

The Edinburgh Evening News wrote about Boyle: “A quiet game by his standards. Couple of threatening moments but nothing really came off.”

With Hibs leading 3-0 early in the second half, Boyle fired a good chance well wide when he was released into space inside the box.

Dykes, who also played the full game, pulled one back on the hour from the penalty spot for Livi, with the big Aussie striker firing low down the middle.

On Sunday, Tom Rogic was left out of the Celtic squad altogether as they stumbled to a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.

Danny Vukovic made his long-awaited competitive return for Genk on Sunday as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Zulte-Waregem in the Belgian First Divizion A.

Vukovic hadn’t played competitively for more than 12 months after he ruptured his Achilles in the gym at training in July last year.

The 35-year-old, who joined Genk in 2017 after a career largely spent domestically, missed the club’s UEFA Champions League campaign which included matches against Liverpool and Napoli.

On Sunday, Vukovic was beaten by Olivier Deschacht’s 41st minute header from a corner which he could do little about.

Prior to the game, Vukovic said: “I've worked so hard for this. It will be my first competitive game in over a year. I'm really looking forward to it.”

Milos Degenek started as Red Star Belgrade claimed a 3-0 win away to Macva Sabac in the Serbian SuperLiga on Sunday.

Mitch Langerak and Thomas Deng faced off and both played full games as Nagoya Grampus thrashed Urawa Reds 6-2 in the Japanese J.League on Saturday.

In the J2.League on Sunday, Jason Geria put in a full shift as JEF United won 2-0 at Machida Zelvia to move up to 12th.

Adam Taggart was benched while Terry Antonis was a 30th minute substitute as Suwon Bluewings drew 0-0 at Ulsan Hyundai in the Korean K League on Saturday.

Jason Davidson wasn’t in the Ulsan matchday squad again.

Brandon O’Neill started and played 84 minutes as fourth-placed Pohang Steelers drew 1-1 with Gwangju.

On Sunday, Rashid Mahazi started and was replaced in second-half stoppage time as winless Incheon United lost 2-0 at home to Seongnam.

In K2 League on Saturday, Nick Ansell was an unused sub and Connor Chapman was absent as Gyeongnam won 3-2 at Daejeon Hana Citizen.

Shane Lowry put in a full shift as Al Ahli drew 1-1 at Umm Salal in the Qatari Stars League on Saturday.

Craig Goodwin played a full game as Al Wahda drew 0-0 with Al Raed in the Saudi Arabian Pro League on Sunday.
