Jackson Irvine got an assist as Hull City recorded an impressive 3-0 away win over Fulham in the English Championship on Saturday.

Irvine, who played 88 minutes in the win, set up Jarrod Bowen’s 57th minute goal to make it 2-0.

He received an 8/10 from Hull Daily Mail, who wrote: “Revelling in his deeper midfield role and he was key to all the good work done by City.

“Broke up play time and again but also showed intelligence to pick the right pass to spring counters. A big performance.”

Callum Elder played 90 minutes at full-back for Hull who move up to 11th with three straight wins.

Elder earned a 7/10 from Hull Daily Mail, who wrote: “The Australian came good with the deep cross for Josh Bowler’s opener and then let his defensive work shine through.

“Fulham enjoyed very little encouragement down his flank as City shut out their hosts.”

Martin Boyle played 15 minutes off the bench in his second game back from a knee injury as Hibernian lost 5-2 to Tom Rogic’s Celtic in the Scottish League Cup on Saturday.

Boyle had scored a last-minute equalizer upon his return in midweek as Hibs drew 2-2 with Livingston.

Rogic started and played 79 minutes, replaced with the scoreline at 4-2, and earned a 6/10 rating from the Daily Record.

The Daily Record wrote: “Surprising inclusion with Christie left on the bench but a big game player who usually delivers at Hampden and he was instrumental in the third goal, dropping into a pocket of space to find Edouard, who claimed the assist.

“Wasn’t as prominent after the break and eventually made way for Christie with 12 minutes left.”

In the other cup semi-final, Oliver Bozanic put in a full shift as Hearts lost 3-0 to Rangers on Sunday.

Bozanic received a 5/10 rating from the Daily Record, who wrote: “Quiet afternoon in a match where Jambos middle were over run by Rangers. Key area of the park meant Hearts couldn’t get a foothold.”

Zach Duncan had to be replaced after 33 minutes due to injury as AGF won 1-0 at FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.

Alex Gersbach and Mustafa Amini both weren’t in the AGF matchday squad.

Mat Ryan kept a clean sheet as Brighton & Hove Albion won 2-0 over Norwich City in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Aaron Mooy was an unused sub on his return from suspension.

Brandon Borrello made his first league appearance since August, coming on as an 88th minute substitute as Freiburg scored late to rescue a 2-2 draw at Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
