Australia captain Mile Jedinak suffered a worrying shoulder injury upon his return to he Aston Villa starting line-up on Saturday, while Aziz Behich scored again and Tom Rogic lifted silverware with Celtic.

Jedinak had to be replaced after just 26 minutes in Villa’s 2-0 win over Ipswich in the English Championship.

The midfielder succumbed to a shoulder problem, which comes shortly after his return from a long-term groin injury.

Villa boss Steve Bruce said: “He's got a shoulder injury – we don't know how serious.

“We'll find out in the next 24 to 48 hours. We could do with a bit of luck on that front.”

In Turkey's Super Lig on Sunday, Aziz Behich continued his remarkable goal scoring form with the opening goal in Bursaspor's 2-1 win over Tony Popovic's Karabukspor.

Behich, who played a full game on the left flank, opened the scoring with a powerful shot after a corner fell to him on the edge of the box after 12 minutes.

The goal makes it four goals in five games for Behich at club level.

In the Scottish League Cup Final on Sunday, Tom Rogic was an 89th minute substitute as Celtic defeated Andy Rose's 10-man Motherwell 2-0.

Rogic only saw a handful of minutes in the victory sealed after second-half goals to James Forrest and Moussa Dembele.

Rose started and played 70 minutes for Motherwell.

Elsewhere, Mat Ryan played a full game and made some good saves but couldn’t deny Manchester United from edging Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ryan was only beaten in the 66th minute when Ashley Young’s strike took a wicked deflection off Lewis Dunk.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton said: “We needed Maty Ryan to make two really good saves for us - but apart from that, I can’t think of a clear opportunity they had in the 90 minutes.”

Aaron Mooy played a full game as Huddersfield went down 2-1 at home to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Daily Mail gave Mooy a 6/10 for his performance in the game.

The newspaper wrote: "One wicked cross before the break showed just how much quality he has but failed to track Sterling for the winner."

In Germany's Bundesliga on Sunday, Mathew Leckie started and played 84 minutes as Hertha BSC won 2-0 at Koln.

Back in the Championship, Bailey Wright and Jackson Irvine both played full games as Bristol City won 3-2 at Hull City.

James Meredith put in a full shift as Millwall lost 1-0 at Fulham.

In the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday, Brad Jones kept a clean sheet as Feyenoord ended their five-game winless run with a 2-0 win at Groningen.

Mark Birighitti also put in a full shift in goal as NAC Breda suffered a 2-1 loss away to Heracles.

Kenny Dougall played a full game and Craig Goodwin started and played 84 minutes as struggling Sparta Rotterdam lost 3-1 to Utrecht.

In the Cypriot First Divison, Tommy Oar returned for the first time in almost two months, playing a full game as APOEL defeated Olympiakos 6-1.
