Socceroo Tom Rogic scored a rare header for Celtic, Jamie Maclaren returned to Hibernian while Bradden Inman netted a double on the opening day of the English season.

Tom Rogic opened the scoring in Celtic’s 3-1 victory over Livingston on the opening day of the season on Saturday.

Rogic netted in the eighth minute, with a thumping header from Jonny Hayes’ cross. The Aussie was replaced after 73 minutes

“It was my first header for the club,” Rogic said following his maiden start of the season.

“It was a great ball. Jonny gives you that, and sometimes his touch and delivery is half a second quicker than some players. I just wanted to get on to the end of it and thankfully it went in.

“Maybe for my size I should score a few more headers. It’s something I’ve been working on so it was nice to get the rewards of that, and hopefully I’ll be able to add a few more for the club in the future.

“It’s a bit of a joke with some of the boys but the most important thing was the win and it was nice to score as well.”
