Brad Smith claimed a match-winning goal assist while Mitchell Langerak conceded five and Andrew Nabbout was in action in Japan.

Brad Smith got the assist as Seattle Sounders claimed a last-gasp 1-0 win over Andy Rose’s Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS on Sunday.

Kelvin Leerdam scored a 96th minute winner for the Sounders from Smith’s pass.

Smith went on a run on the left flank, cutting inside and working a one-two before teeing up Leerdam in the box.

Smith and Rose both played full games for their respective sides.

In the Japanese J.League on Sunday, Mitch Langerak gave away a penalty and conceded five goals as Nagoya Grampus’s slide continued with a 5-3 loss to David Villa’s Vissel Kobe.

Langerak's Nagoya were in title contention early in the season but are now eighth and winless in their past six matches.

Langerak was beaten twice by Villa, as well as another Spaniard Andres Iniesta with a fine finish after the Socceroo partially cleared a cross.

The Australian conceded a 79th minute penalty, earning a booking, before Villa shot past him.

Elsewhere, Andrew Nabbout in the Urawa Reds starting XI in their 2-0 loss away to Oita Trinita.

Nabbout started and played 69 minutes in his second J.League start since sustaining an injury in May against Shonan Bellmare.

In the Korean K-League on Sunday there was no debut for Jason Davidson as Ulsan Hyundai drew 2-2 at FC Seoul.
