According to a tweet from England and Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, an all-star cast including Socceroo Tim Cahill, has assembled to film the ad for the latest instaLlment of EA Sports’ FIFA series.

"Hi tweeps. Just finished filming new ad with @ 3gerardpique FIFA. Kaka benzema and Tim Cahill. Good day. The ad looks good” posted Rooney this morning.

A big focus of the 2012 instalment is in relation to its release on the Nintendo 3DS.

"EA SPORTS FIFA 12 will deliver the most authentic, innovative and feature-rich 3D football experience on Nintendo 3DS when the game launches,” said Matt Prior, Producer for FIFA 12 on Nintendo 3DS.

"We challenged our development team to develop innovative features that would maximise the FIFA experience on 3DS. They delivered intuitive new touch screen controls and a curved pitch in our Street mode that truly brings the 3D elements to life.

"When you combine these features and many other innovations with all the authentic players and kits for the upcoming season, we are confident that this will be the best football game available on Nintendo 3DS."

The incorporation of FIFA Street into the flagship title adds another dimension, says ITYS Magazine’s tech guru Andy Gusman.

FIFA Street was an interesting title, but it lacked a little bit of lustre on its own,” explains Gusman.

Street wasn’t as robust as the FIFA series, but from what we’re hearing about its inclusion in the main FIFA 12 game, it really offers something different for gamers.”

FIFA 12 will be the 20th instalment in the famous gaming franchise that began as FIFA International Soccer in 1993. Its release is scheduled for late September.
