UEFA says all 31 matches at the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine are oversubscribed after football fans from 206 countries made more than 12 million requests for tickets.

UEFA will conduct a random draw to allocate seats, and successful fans will be notified by email in April.

Around 1.4 million tickets are available for the June 8-July 1 tournament being held in eight cities.

UEFA says the demand increased 17 per cent over applications for Euro 2008 matches played in Austria and Switzerland.

Prices were cut 33 per cent to reflect fans' spending power in the co-host nations. The cheapest seats cost 30 ($42).

Polish and Ukrainian residents made 88 per cent of the ticket requests on UEFA's website.
