It's going to be hard to back up the events of last season but can you ever rule it out of the English Premier League?

The off season has been pretty intriguing, including a certain Arsenal skipper heading to rivals Manchester United, Modric held hostage by Spurs, Man City only spending the odd billion dollars and so on. The transfer saga will continue but thankfully after their booze ups in the USA and Asia the squads return to old motherland to begin the season.

It's seemingly a straight forward weekend for the big boys but how many times have we said that before? Arsenal's first game without RVP is against the Black Cats at home, $1.36 is very short but I guess Susan Boyle is more likely to pick up something when away than Sunderland, $8.70 here.

The Reds have a tricky away one first up under new boss Brendan Rodgers, they're $1.91 away to West Brom $4.10 so too for Spurs and their new boss AVB, in fact Newcastle $2.58 favourites to upset Tottenham $2.72. City's title defence starts at home $1.18 who will simply will romp in at home to new boys Southampton $15.75, how's that for a baptism of fire! United have a tougher time, $1.86 says they'll walk away with three points from Goodison against Timmy's former team Everton $4.10.

It's a race in three for the title according to punters, $2.25 for Man City to go back to back, something they've never done, United $3 to reclaim power in Manchester while Champions League holders Chelsea are $6 to win the League. Arsenal then follow at $15, Liverpool at $29 and $31 for Tottenham.

This season we're pleased to introduce Betstar's Green and Gold Army 'Punt for Charity' where we'll place a $5 bet each weekend to get as much money possible to donate to our nominated charity at season's end. Each week we'll keep you updated on our progress and let's hope we're on the money so you can follow our tips too!

This week we're going for Chelsea to roll Wigan in the EPL, Birmingham to kick off their Championship campaign in style and MK Dons to start League One with three points. Our $5 is on it at $4.23.
