Socceroos Central: Rukavytsya scores, Lowry injured

Nikita Rukavytsya took his season league tally to 13 goals, while Shane Lowry was injured in Qatar, Harry Souttar earned a 7/10 rating and Jordan Murray netted in India. 

Nikita Rukavytsya scored again as Maccabi Haifa won 2-0 away to Maccabi Netanya in the Israeli Ligat Ha’Al on Saturday.

Rukavytsya, who started and played 71 minutes, scored the second goal in the 19th minute of the game.

He finished off a swift move, lashing home a low cutback with his left foot centrally inside the box.

The fringe Socceroo has now scored 13 goals in the Israeli top flight this season from 12 games.

Mat Ryan was left out again as Brighton drew 2-2 at West Ham United in the English Premier League on Sunday.

Harry Souttar put in a full shift and helped keep a clean sheet as Stoke City drew 0-0 away to Coventry City in the English Championship on Saturday.

Souttar earned a 7/10 rating from the Stoke Sentinel who wrote: “Has a knack of stretching out telescopic leg to nick ball back. Brave block late on after own mistake.”

Riley McGree was an unused sub for Birmingham City while Massimo Luongo wasn’t in the Sheffield Wednesday squad due to injury.

Martin Boyle played a full game and earned a 6/10 rating as Hibernian lost 1-0 away to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Edinburgh Live wrote: “Passed up a couple of good chances in front of goal. Capable of influencing these games but fell a bit short today.”

Tom Rogic was an unused sub as Celtic won 3-0 at Hamilton.

Daniel Arzani was absent as Utrecht drew 2-2 with AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.

Danny Vukovic put in a full shift as Genk drew 1-1 with Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian First Division A on Sunday.

Panos Armenakas was an unused sub for Zulte-Waregem while Trent Sainsbury was absent again for Kortrijk.

Jordan Murray scored an 88th minute goal as Kerala Blasters defeated Hyderabad 2-0 in the Indian Super League on Sunday.

Scott Neville put in a full shift as East Bengal drew 2-2 with Chennaiyin on Saturday.

Shane Lowry went off early with his side 3-1 down as Al Ahli lost 5-3 to Al Duhail in the Qatari Stars League on Sunday.

Lowry was replaced in the 20th minute, reportedly due to an unspecified injury.

Dimi Petratos and Craig Goodwin faced off as the former’s Al Wahda won 1-0 at the latter’s Abha in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday. Goodwin put in a full shift while Petratos started and played 70 minutes.
