Sunderland offered an update on the injured Bailey Wright, while Ryan Williams scored an 8/10 rating in League One as international football took over with only a handful of Aussies in action.

Callum Elder put in a full shift as leaders Hull City drew 1-1 with Gillingham in England's League One, cutting their lead to one point.

Elder earned a 6/10 rating from the Hull Daily Mail who wrote: "Another solid enough display, though has a habit of switching off at times when on the ball and gets caught out."

Bailey Wright was absent due to a calf injury again as third-placed Sunderland won 1-0 at Bristol Rovers.

Sunderland boss Lee Johnson said: “Bailey is feeling really good but he is not immediately close to a return.”

Ryan Williams started and played 90 minutes as fifth-placed Portsmouth won 2-1 at Shrewsbury Town.

Williams received an 8/10 rating from the Portsmouth News who wrote: "Put heart and soul into that performance."

Kenny Dougall played a full game as Blackpool drew 2-2 with Plymouth, while Cam Burgess put in a full shift as Accrington were hammered 7-0 by second-placed Peterborough.

In League Two, Jack Iredale played a full game for Cambridge United and Tom Beadling got 67 minutes for Barrow.

Anthony Carter was a 73rd minute sub in Academico Viseu's 1-0 home loss to Varzim in Portugal's Segunda Liga on Friday.
