09 August 2011 McGrath scores for Brondby -
On a weekend where the Young Socceroos were humbled 5-1 by Spain at the U-20 World Cup in Colombia, there was some irony as McGrath – who turned down Jan Versleijen's call-up for that tournament to focus on club duties – scored his first goal of the season for his Danish club Brondby.
The 20-year-old striker, making his third consecutive start for Brondby, scored after five minutes as his side lost 2-1 to OB Odense in Denmark's Superliga on Sunday.
McGrath made an intelligent run into the box before firing in a perfectly-placed angled shot from the right side of the penalty area to give Brondby the advantage.
